Welcome
Mundaring Sharing is a community-based, not for profit, adult learning centre. We were one of the first learning centres in Western Australia - opening in 1978. This year sees us celebrate 30 years of learning and sharing in the Mundaring and hills community.
Mundaring Sharing provides adults with the opportunity to learn new skills, share their knowledge and meet socially. A great place to make new friends in a relaxed environment in the hills of Perth. We run a huge range of different courses every term - each run by a volunteer class coordinator. Our centre has a welcoming atmosphere and joining a class is a great way to meet other members of your community.
Key elements to Mundaring Sharing:
- A crèche ('Little Possums') with qualified, salaried staff.
- A sharing of skills on a voluntary basis. Teachers are not paid.
- No examination system. All people are equal.
- A sharing of all work i.e. management expertise, domestic and gardening.
- When you join the Centre, part of the payment for your course is a voluntary commitment to work for 4 hours in a workgroup over the course of the term. Workgroups ensure Mundaring Sharing operates effectively and are an integral part of the Centre's underlying philosophy. If you prefer, you can pay a fee of $10.00 per hour in lieu of your workgroup obligation.
- Term fees: $45/class, discounts for concession and multiple classes
Other aspects to our Centre include a Bring and Buy op shop, Second-hand bookshop (with a book sale at every Mundaring Sunday markets) and Library. Small function rooms for hire.
New classes: Craft Circle (Wednesday evenings 7pm - 9pm), Chinese Exercise & Foot Massage (Thursdays 12:45pm - 2:45pm), Chi-gong (Fridays10am - 11am) & AUSLAN sign language (Fridays 1pm-2pm)
