What are the dates for Term 3?

Monday,19th July to Friday, 24th September.

How much will it cost?

Only $45 per term for one class! ($40 concession).
Enrol in more than one class and receive discounts.
We also ask that you commit to volunteer some time (4 hours over the term) towards the running of our Centre (or pay $40 extra in lieu of this).

What times do classes run?

Generally classes run for 2 hours starting at 9:30am, 12:45pm and 7pm

Tuesday 9:30am to 11:30am

This group has been meeting for some considerable time and find pleasure in producing many a varied art work of different media. No formal teacher - we all help each other. We also enjoy outings at least once a term to art exhibitions and relevant cultural occasions.

Altered Art

Monday 9:30am to 11:30am

Learn new painting techniques using plaster, paints, stamps and paper transfers on all mediums. Books and designs are available for use. A fun morning where ideas are shared so we can all learn from each other and laughter is encouraged.

Bridge

Wednesday 9:30am to 11:30am

Mundaring Sharing has a great bridge class where players get together to learn new tricks in a fun, social atmosphere. New players welcome.

China Painting

Wednesday 9:30am to 11:30am

Learn to paint your favourite designs onto porcelain, plates, bowls etc. Beginners welcome.

Chinese Languageback to top

Wednesday 9:30am to 11:30am

Students learn to read, write and speak modern Chinese in a well structured sequence. Each student proceeds at their own pace with advanced students helping beginners.

Computers - First Click

Wednesday 1pm to 3pm
Thursday 9:30am to 11:30am

This is a free computer class run as a result of a grant by the WA government. Classes generally run for two hours with a break half way thru for a cuppa. Participants in First C lick training can expect to learn basic computer literacy skills, including how to operate a computer and how to use the Internet and email. The training offered through First Click and Second Click does not involve testing of participants and is provided to participants free of charge.

Computers - Second Click

Tuesday 9:30am to 11:30am

This is a free computer class run as a result of a grant by the WA government. Classes generally run for two hours with a break half way thru for a cuppa. Second Click offers people who have already acquired basic computer literacy skills the opportunity to extend their computer literacy skills. The training offered through First Click and Second Click does not involve testing of participants and is provided to participants free of charge.

This class is primarily for people who want to gain confidence with computers. The class will also teach to higher levels depending on the needs of the group.

Creative Writing

Friday 9:30am to 11:30am

This class has twin goals of fun and confidence in writing. We touch on every known genre. This class will help you sharpen and practice skills and tricks through the medium of poetry and short stories.

Drawing and Painting

Wednesday 9:30am to 11:30am

This is a class aimed at increasing your art skills. Bring along your ideas and produce them onto canvas

Dressmaking

Friday 9:30am to 11:30am

Genealogy - beginners

Tuesday 12:45pm to 2:45pm

Utilising the amazing resource of the Internet we will discover how to research your family tree online. Not just computers, you will learn other more 'old fashioned' ways of discovery!

Indonesian language and culture

Monday 12:45pm to 2:45pm

This class will introduce you to the language and culture of Indonesia. You will learn basic Indonesian. And be given an insight into the different cultural practices of the country. Great for your next trip to Bali.

Knitting and Crochet

Thursday 12:45pm to 2:45pm

Knit and crochet for all levels of experience. Are you a complete beginner? Then you have found the right place we will show you how. Got a pattern you cant decipher? Bring it along and we will nut it out!

Leadlight - beginners

Wednesday 12:45 to 2:45pm

Leadlight is proving so popular that we have started a new class just for beginners! Create your own original leadlight pieces using coloured or plain glass. Some tools required - 3mm clear glass (practice cutting), Basic glass cutter, clean rag, small dust pan and brush, Chipboard (60cm x 60cm) for use as a work surface.

Mosaics

A popular class with two classes on a Thursday. Safety glasses and covered footwear required. A very enthusiastic group where you release your frustrations by smashing tiles – then create an amazing work of art. Other equipment you may need - Tile nippers, Glue, Thick Sponge, Apron, hammer, old towel, Item to decorate.

Needlepoint

Tuesday 9:30am to 11:30am

This class has been running for many years and covers all facets of fine needlework. Morning tea is a very important part of this weekly event!

Paintingback to top

Friday 9:30am to 11:30am

Faye's objective for this class is to put pictures on walls in a fun non-competitive atmosphere. You choose the subject - Landscape, Still Life or Abstract. In one or all of the following media: oil, water or acrylic.

Pottery - Freeform

Thursday 9:30am to 11:30am

Make all sorts of wonderful designs out of clay. Add coloured glass to the firing and it becomes even more unique. We have a kiln on site. This class is not about bowls and pots – we don't use wheels just our hands!

Scrapbooking and Paper Art

Tuesday 9:30am to 11:30am

Learn new and exciting ways to display your photographs. Create beautiful memories for your family to treasure. As with all our groups we have lots of class interaction and many friendships are made. Bring along your photo's and acid free albums. Paper cutters available for use.

Self Defence for Women

Thursday 9:30am to 11:30am

Learn basic self defence techniques and personal safety from an experienced Martial Arts instructor. All ages and levels of fitness!

Sewing and Patchwork

Monday 9:30am to 11:30am

Enjoy a friendly informal learning experience with fabric and thread. Machine sew projects from garments to bags to patchwork

Tai Chi - Chi Gong (shibashi)

Wednesday 1pm to 2:30pm

Simple deep breathing exercises for good health and wellbeing and to balance mind... body and spirit

Upholstery

Thursday 12:45pm to 2:45pm

Transform that old piece of furniture. Bring along an old dining chair, stool or small project you are working on. Equipment needed - a small hammer (magnetic one end if possible) and screwdriver

Woodwork

Tuesday 10:30am to 1pm

Safety equipment and covered footwear required. Tools and equipment available to use. Students learn the fundamentals of woodwork and use of tools. Many a fine piece of furniture is produced in this class.

This Yoga class is held at the Mundaring Lesser Hall, cnr Nichol St and Jacoby St, Mundaring. Please bring along a yoga mat, blanket and cushion / bolster.
